Programs and Podcasts

I occasionally present various audio/visual music programs in the NE Ohio area.  Here is a listing of upcoming programs:
2018

TUESDAY, APRIL 10; 6:30-7:30 PM
LOST VOICES: Home-made Lacquer Recordings From The 20th Century
ELLET BRANCH LIBRARY; 2470 E. Market St., Akron OH, 44319; 330-784-2019
Listen to audio letters to friends and relatives, church services, old local radio broadcasts and Christmas morning celebrations during an hour-long program featuring excerpts from home-made records from the 1940s and 1950s.
THURSDAY, APRIL 12; 6:30-7:30 pm
FUN WITH THE PRE-FAB FOUR: MICKY, MIKE, PETER AND DAVY OF THE MONKEES
GREEN BRANCH LIBRARY; 4046 Massillon Rd., Uniontown OH, 44685; 330-896-9074
The Monkees started off as a manufactured band for television, and became a real recording and touring entity. This hour long program focuses on their efforts to make their own music, and features little seen video clips and selected album tracks, including songs from their critically acclaimed 50th anniversary reunion album, Good Times.
I also present a bi-weekly podcast for the Ellet Branch Library called Ray’s Listening Room, where I review and play excerpts from new compact disc releases that have come into the branch.  It’s usually between eight and ten minutes long, and although it’s bi-weekly, I tend to be a little more lax during the summer…
